Mt. Cho-Oyu lies in eastern part of Nepal at Khumbu region. It rises 8201m above the sea level. Mr. Maciej Berbeka of Poland 1st scaled Mt. Cho-Oyu on February 12, 1984 via South East Piller. The 1st ascent was made via north-west ridge using route through Tibet from the Nangpa – La is not strictly a legal route. Cho-Oyu the sixth highest mountain in the world has only recently become a popular mountain to climb. It is the sixth highest mountain in the world 8,201m. Cho-Oyu is translated in Tibetan as “the goddess of the turquoise.”

Mount Cho Oyu is 8201m. & is about 30 Kilo meter west of Everest at the head of the Gokyo valley. Cho-Oyu sites on both sides of the border of Nepal and Tibet, about 30km. west of Mt. Everest. Due to its proximity to this pass and the generally moderate slopes of the northwest ridge route, some climbers consider Cho Oyu to be the easiest 8,000 meters peak to climb.
