Annapurna is derived from Sanskrit word, which literally means “Sustenance”, but in general, Annapurna is translated as Goddess of the Harvests, fertility & agriculture. Moreover, according to Hindu religion Annapurna is an incarnation of goddess Durga. Mt. Annapurna I lies in the western part of Nepal. It rises to 8091m. Above the sea level Mr. Maurice Herzog of France 1st time scaled Mt. Annapurna I on June 03,1950 via North Face.

Mount Annapurna I (9091m/26,545ft) is the 10th highest mountain in the world which is located east of a great gorge cut through the Himalaya by the Kali Gandaki River in the Western part of Nepal.There are four summits make up Annapurna with the entire massif forming a barrier on the northern side of the Pokhara Valley in Nepal. The main summit stands to the west of the Annapurna Sanctuary. It was the first eight thou-sanders to be climbed.
