The Everest region is the most famous of trekking spot of Nepal. This is also called Khumbu region which includes Mt. Everest (8,848m), the highest mountain in the world along with many of the world’s 8000m peaks such as Makalu, Lhotse and Cho-Oyu. The Everest Base Camp trekking is a classic trek which follows in the footsteps of Hillary & Tenzing (climbed in 1953) May 24 ends with an ascent of Kala Pattar (Black Rock) 5,545m for breath-taking and mind-blowing views of Everest. Before accessing Everest Base Camp, the trail follows the Khumbu Glacier with huge ice pinnacles soaring to unbelievable height.
Jiri – Everest Base camp region occupies the highest peak Mt. Everest (8,848m) and other many mountain peaks at an altitude of 8,000m. Trek from Jiri to the Everest Base Camp is one of the most popular of longer treks. You begin your trip with 9 hours bus/car drive to Jiri from Kathmandu. Then, you begin your trek through Sherpa village, a long gurgling river and across high suspension bridges, meeting Zobkyio (family of Yak) caravan on and Nepalese porter on the way. You have to cross Lamajura Pass (3,530m) to Solukhumbu to Lukla. Entering the Sagarmatha National Park we arrive at Namche Bazaar, a colorful, bustling market with traders from the surrounding villages as well as from far-away Tibet. You continue your trip to the Tengboche monastery from where you can view of Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Ama Dablam (6,456m), Thameserku and other more. Jiri Base Camp trekking provides you good experience of untouched and beautiful villages with breath taking views of mountains. This trail provides a classic trekking experience in the Himalayas offering enchanting sights of Lukla trail in the higher Khumbu and relayed observation of the diverse flora and fauna in the mid-altitude regions on the approach to the Khumbu Valley, the famed Everest territory. Jiri-Everest Base camp trekking includes a tremendous amount of uphill and downhill walks. So, moderate fitness level is preferable.
