 A Sherpa guide who holds the record for most climbs up Mount Everest made 23rd  on May 15,2019 at 7:50 AM successful climbs over the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest (8848m). Breaking his own record of 22 successful ascents of Everest, Kami Rita now became the only man in the planet to climb Mt. Everest for 23 times. Back in 2017 Kami became the 3rd person to climb Mt. Everest for 21 times, equalizing the counts with Apa Sherpa and Phurba Tashi Sherpa.
Kami, who like most Sherpas goes by only one name, flew out of the capital, Kathmandu, with his team for the small airstrip at Lukla, from where they will trek to Everest’s base camp and spend a few days acclimatising and preparing for their summit bid in May.
He summit in 1994 as High Altitude Worker but second climbed was up to 8500 m and has done so almost every year since. Accept on 2014, and 2015. On 18 April 2014 an avalanche killed 16 Climbing Sherpas Guides. Worse day in History on Everest. Therefore on 22 April, the Sherpas announced they would not work on Everest for the remainder of 2014 as a mark of respect for the victims. And on 2015 No summit bid due to the Earthquake .

The Sherpa Brothers

Like most Sherpas,Kami grew up in the foothills of Everest and began carrying equipment and supplies for trekkers and mountaineers at an early age, then after few years he joined his elder brother Lakpa Rita Sherpa. Lhakpa Rita Sherpa is the 1st Nepali Seven Summiter & International Guide.

Lhakpa Rita Sherpa’s (1st Nepali Seven Summiter & International Guide) climbing and guiding achievements are significant, with 17 summits of Mt. Everest on over 26 expeditions (a record 253 climbers on the summit under his leadership) seven guided summits of Cho-Oyu and numerous other peaks in Nepal and  Kami Rita Sherpa  is a Nepali Sherpa guide who achieved the record for most ascents to the summit of Mount Everest after reaching it for a 23rd time in May 2019 at the age of 49. He also summited K2, Cho-oyu, Lhoste, Barungste, Amadablam, Manaslu, Annapurna IV and many above 8000.mts peaks. (30 years experence). Lhakpa & Kami  are brothers. Their father Mingma Tshering Sherpa (Surdar Pala) was one of the first professional Sherpa guides.  In between them all together they have climbed 40 Sumit as of 2019.
